From $0 to $82 Mil: What Sales Can Learn from the Title Industry

For nearly two decades, I had the privilege of working in the title and escrow industry, culminating in five years as Chief Strategy Officer. But my proudest achievement wasn’t a title or a promotion - it was building a region from the ground up, from $0 to $82 million in cumulative revenue over nine years.
There was no playbook. No sales team. No big marketing spend.
What I had was intentionality, relationships, and a belief that every client and employee deserved to feel like a VIP. And it worked.
Sales Isn’t a Pitch. It’s a Partnership.
When I started building the region, I didn’t just look for clients, I listened for what people needed. I paid attention to the gaps, the friction points, and the missed opportunities others overlooked.
But most importantly, I invited collaboration. Using a practice called Appreciative Inquiry, I co-created solutions with clients and partners rather than prescribing them. Instead of walking in with a pitch, I asked:
What do you wish your title company understood?
What would a true partnership look like?
What would it mean to build this together?
That mindset shift - from selling to co-creating - laid the foundation for deep trust and long-term success.
Experiences That Build Revenue (and Loyalty)
Yes, we closed deals. But we also opened hearts. We built moments that turned into movement.
I created partner appreciation events that weren’t just well-executed, they were unforgettable:
A penthouse soirée with a master distiller crafting custom cocktails for 30 handpicked clients
An airplane hangar transformed into Moulin Rouge, complete with silk aerialists pouring champagne and a live band for 800
Private, wine-paired dinners with sommeliers for groups of 12 in tucked-away spaces
Each one was purposeful. Each one was designed to make people feel valued, not just entertained. When people feel seen and celebrated, they stay—and they refer.
Education That Felt Like Celebration
I also hosted educational events that felt more like a gift than a seminar. No stale conference rooms. No branded notebooks.
Each guest received a handwritten note welcoming them with intention.
Floral centerpieces, elegant stage lighting, and thoughtfully designed upscale lunches created a VIP experience from start to finish.
Following these events, I hosted private mastermind dinners, intimate gatherings with the speaker, members of my leadership team, and a handpicked group of guests.
These weren’t just dinners, they were incubators of authentic conversation. We talked about challenges, dreams, personal goals, and business strategies. These were the rooms where people felt safe, celebrated, and supported. And those relationships translated into long-term success.
The Strategy Behind the Magic
These outcomes didn’t come from charisma. They came from repeatable systems grounded in strategy and heart.
I succeeded by building a framework that prioritized:
Intentionality in every experience
Meaningful connection over generic touchpoints
Consistent presence and responsiveness
Curated recognition and personalized gifting
Empowerment of emerging leaders
Experience-first design, from onboarding to major events
What Sales Leaders Need to Hear
Sales isn’t about pressure. It’s about presence. It’s about making people feel like they matternot just as customers, but as humans.
When you create a culture of trust, when your partners feel like they have a voice in shaping their experience with you, and when your team feels inspired rather than micromanaged, everything changes.
As I prepare to speak to sales leaders, I want them to understand this:
Revenue is the byproduct of trust
Growth is the result of intention
Loyalty is created through experience
And Yes, You Can Learn This, Too
The approach I used to grow an $82M region wasn’t a one-off success. It’s now a framework I teach through the AMPLIFY Method, a strategic, experience-first system that any leader or organization can adopt to:
Improve retention
Drive referrals
Elevate culture
And grow with purpose
If you’re leading a team, scaling a region, or trying to create deeper buy-in from your clients or employees, I can show you exactly how I did it, step by step.
Because I didn’t just talk about growth.
I built it.
And now, I teach others to do the same.
