The Best Pasta of My Life...And Why That Matters to Your Business

Last weekend, I had what might have been the best pasta of my life.
Bar Sera’s Weekly Special - Doppio Ravioli, half stuffed with peppadew ricotta, half with pesto ricotta, was folded into a cherry tomato blush sauce and topped with basil and parmesan. Every bite was layered with intention, flavor, and joy.
But it wasn’t just the pasta.
After dinner, we walked to Bar Lucca for Nutella donuts, pistachio cheesecake, and an after-dinner drink. I was greeted like a regular, even though I’m not there every week. Patrick smiled as if welcoming an old friend. Ally remembered what I liked. And then Chef Will walked out of the kitchen and handed me a signed copy of his cookbook. No press. No performance. Just a quiet moment of generosity.
I told him the truth: “That pasta may have been the best of my life.”
He smiled, grateful, not because of the compliment, but because the experience landed the way it was intended. (And because his hard efforts were recognized, they were clearly very labor intensive - and it paid off!)
That’s what makes Pieri Hospitality Group different. It’s why I wrote about them in my book, No One Needs Another Company Mug: Stop Branding. Start Experiencing.
Because here’s the truth no marketing department wants to admit:
It’s not the ad campaign or the Instagram aesthetic that keeps people coming back. It’s the experience.
How often do patrons get to speak directly to the chef? How often does a hospitality team know your name and your preferences, even if you’re not a celebrity? How often does a restaurant curate a moment, not just a meal?
Experiences create emotional loyalty.
And emotional loyalty turns into referrals, return visits, and long-term growth.
This is the magic your business needs. It isn't more branding, but more intentionality. More human moments. More surprise-and-delight. More ways for your customer to say:
“I can’t stop thinking about that.” (And I can't stop thinking about that pasta...)
That’s what I help businesses build.
Whether you’re a service provider, a broker-owner, a restaurant group, or a leader trying to transform your team culture, experience strategy is your next competitive edge.
Because no one needs another company mug.
They need to feel something.
Ready to create a brand people don’t just remember...but love?
